I am one to admit that I drink Starbucks drinks. I know, I know, it's a product of Dr. Evil ("Eight years ago we invested in a small Seattle coffee company called Starbucks..."). medrx-one.com

In my heart, I like Peets Coffee a lot better. There are just so many Starbucks around, you turn around, and BAM, there's on in your face. So I often will go in and order a frappuccino. That's mostly what I like there, anyways.

I think that once the colder weather comes, I'll be drinking more Peets. I think their coffee is the only kind of coffee that I've been willing to drink black. Heh. We need more Peets in the south bay... I only know of one near our house.

we have a brand new Starbucks in my town... inside Safeway! I hate to admit it, but the lure o' the buy 7 get one free with your club card has me way more excited than other area coffee yards!
Grrr! I'm supposed to stand up for the little guy!

In Safeway? I thought that Starbucks had a deal with Albertson's to have in-store locations. I guess it's not exclusive.

But I hear ya... convenience and price are often a factor in this game. I feel your pain.

When we were living on Godforsaken Island a visitor once picked up a 1/2 pound of Peet's beans for us on the way through SFO. (Godforsaken Is., a part of the former British Empire, was a place where when I asked someone where to buy good coffee beans he said "learn to drink tea.") I've had a real special place in my heart for Peet's ever since. And I'm not a frap drinker, but lately Starbucks' hot espresso drinks have really declined in quality. Go Peets!

Haha, zorgy, that's funny... I had to often bring back Peet's beans when I was living on the other island... ;)

I actually haven't had a starbucks espresso drink in a while, so I wouldn't know if they've declined in quality. Their variety of cold drinks has been a bonus, especially living in a warmer climate. I really look forward to cool autumn and winter nights with a warm mug of Peet's.

There is something to be said for tea, too. I only drink looseleaf, so I'm a tea snot. Heh.
